Description
General
This Generation Flageolet 6585 is a tin whistle made of nickel and tuned to the key of Eb. The tin whistle, otherwise known as the Irish whistle, is a commonly-used wind instrument in Irish and Scottish folk music. The flageolets made by Generation are suitable for both beginners and professionals, and boast an unmistakably traditional sound. This silver nickel-plated tin whistle sounds even brighter than its brass counterparts.
Playing the Eb flageolet
A tin whistle in the key of Eb is usually used to play melodies in Eb major as well as Ab major. Nonetheless, the flageolet can produce any scale simply by covering certain holes and leaving others open while playing. That being said, it’s often more practical to simply play with a tin whistle in a different key. Here at Bax Music, we carry Generation tin whistles in all six keys (Bb, C, D, Eb, F and G).
