The JP100D from Sterling by Musicman is the offspring of the long-standing collaboration between Ernie Ball/Musicman and guitar-legend John Petrucci. Beautifully made and with such great attention to detail, this guitar epitomises what guitar-making is about. With a solid African Mahogany body, and Hawaiian Koa cap, the JP100D packs a serious tonal punch. Rich, warm lows and mids from the body are complimented perfectly by the maple neck, which gives the tone a sharper, more precise edge.
With dual DiMarzio humbuckers, the JP100D sings through a clean setting, with such dynamic clarity and responsiveness, but when gain is added to the amp, this baby roars! With a tight, punchy tone, this is a great guitar for any serious Prog/Fusion/Metal players out there. That said, this is a great sounding instrument regardless of what genre of playing it takes on!
Complete with a Sterling-designed ‘Modern Tremolo’ system, the Sterling by Musicman JP100D is a wonderful piece of modern guitar building combining staggering looks, great playability and wonderfully versatile tones.
