Description
General
Made by Generation Music, this tin whistle (or flageolet) is tuned in C and carries on the tradition of the whistles used to play Scottish and Irish folk music. This much-loved instrument delivers the distinct Celtic sound that can now be heard in anything including pop music, film soundtracks, and folk-rock and is perfect for intermediate players as well as complete beginners.
Playing the Flageolet in C
Via the six finger-holes, playing the C-major and F-major scales with this tin whistle is as easy as it gets. With a little training and the right technique, you can actually learn to play any scale, but for beginners it would be easier to get a different whistle in a different tuning. Generation Flageolets are available in six different tunings and made from brass as well as nickel. The 6581 has been made from nickel, which gives it a brighter and clearer sound when compared to the slightly warmer sound of the brass versions.
