After the 2015 launch of the now-legendary Helix effects processor, Line 6 have gone from strength to strength, with each new product building upon the solid foundation stones laid by the original. 2017 saw the release of the Helix LT, a slighty-stripped back, more budget friendly smaller brother to the original, which saw the awesome processing power of the HX Audio Engine make its way into the hands of even more aspiring professional musicians than before.

With the HX Audio engine, Line 6 Helix HX Effects makes use of of that awesome Helix DSP processing to run up to 9 powerful effects a the same time. You’re also ensured exceptional depth, responsiveness, and ultra-low noise from the HX Effects due to the impressive 123 dB of dynamic range it can produce.

Plenty Of Effects

It wouldn’t be a Helix without a vast multitiude of effects for you to choose from, and it doesn’t dissapoint. With more than 100 HX Effects to choose from, including a plethora of distortions, delays, reverbs, modulations, pitch/synth/filters, compressors/limiters, EQs, wahs, looping and more that you’d find in the previous models, aswell as a legacy library of effects from pre-Helix era Line 6 multi-effects units, you’re more than spoiled for choice!

Recreates with Accuracy

One area where digital effects processors and modellers often fall flat is in the genuine recreation of vintage effects sounds, largely down to anomalies in the construction of those early pedals which would inadvertantly colour the tone produced. The Line 6 Helix HX is different, in that it actually models each individual component down to the finest detail, such as the behaviour associated with multiple germanium and silicon components interacting in vintage fuzz boxes.

In addition to the built in effects options, Line 6 Helix HX allows you to load third-party speaker cabinet IR’s for stage, and even acoustic guitar body resonance!

What’s the Difference Between the Line 6 HX Effects and the Line 6 HX Stomp?

The answer to this question may be more simple than you think (aside from the obvious physical differences).

While the array of HX effects on offer by the HX Stomp is similar to those in the HX Effects pedal (more than 100), the HX Effects pedals hardware has even more processing power available.

This means that whilst the HX Stomp may have the HX Effects beat with regards to Amp and Cab Sims available, the HX Effects pedal can actually run up to 9 presets simultaneously (as opposed to 6 on the Stomp). In other words, if it’s purely effects that you’re looking to make use of, the Line 6 HX Effects is the way to go!
